Hooked on Books Reading Fair – February

Families of preschoolers and elementary-age children are invited to Chaska High School
on Saturday, February 2, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. for a morning of fun projects, learning and entertainment. Come for an hour or stay the entire morning!

Poetry Challenge - April

(Nat'l Poetry Month) The Poetry Challenge is an event held during April to stimulate and involve grade school age children in the appreciation and creation of poetry. Children can write a poem; then turn it in to be judged for creativity and rhyme. Watch for more information to be posted in the library. Info

Book Club In A Bag Kits

These kits contain 10 paperback copies of a book and a notebook with discussion questions and author information. The kits can be reserved and can be checked out for six weeks. They can not be renewed. Thanks to the Friends of the Chanhassen Library and Target.

Summer Reading Program –
Teens and Children –

June 2 – August 16

The summer reading program encourages youth to read and stay involved with the library during the summer.  Incentive program for all children including infants to those entering 5thsummer reading grade in the fall encourage them to read every day on their own or with someone. Prize rewards are given for reading 5, 10, 15, and 20 hours and can be claimed any time one of these levels is reached. Fun family programs are provided throughout the summer and are free and do not require registration.

Join in the fun this summer and “Look what’s cookin’ at your library!”  The Chanhassen Library is planning a full schedule of events and reading programs for children and teens that will keep them excited about reading during the summer months.
